FAQ

  • Are H2OPro-Flow sensors required for the H2OPro sprinkler timer?

    • No, the H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer does not require flow sensors to operate. Without flow sensors, the H2OPro controller will still manage watering schedules with weather monitoring but will not have the expanded capabilities like leak detection without at least one H2OPro-Flow sensor installed.
  • Are H2OPro-Flow sensors needed to qualify for water utility rebates on the H2OPro sprinkler timer?

    • No, flow sensors are not required to qualify for water utility rebates. The H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer has EPA WaterSense certification as a stand-alone controller without flow sensors.
  • Which type of sprinkler valves are compatible with the H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer?

    • The H2OPro irrigation controller is compatible with both 24VAC and 12-24VDC solenoid valves.
  • Does H2OPro require you to setup a user account?

    • No, we wanted setup to be simple so no personal information is collected or stored in the cloud. The only optional information collected is your zip code, e-mail address and water rate. This information is stored locally on your phone and your H2OPro Sprinkler timer to monitor local weather, send alerts and track water cost.
  • Can H2OPro be controlled via the internet?

    • Yes, the H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer is controllable via the internet and your home WiFi network. If you lose internet or WiFi at home, the controller will continue to follow programmed watering schedules. However, weather data will not be available so watering adjustments based on weather will not be made until internet access is restored.
  • If I have more than 8 zones in my yard, can I use more than one H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer to manage watering schedules for all of the zones?

    • Yes, the Android and iOS Apps allow you to manage more than one H2OPro controller. Each controller operates independently and you can connect to them individually using the Apps. For example, if you have 12 zones, you could connect 8 zones to one H2OPro controller and the remaining 4 zones could be connected to a second H2OPro controller.
  • Does the H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer have a Master Control Valve connection?

    • Yes, the H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer does have a master solenoid valve connection.
  • Can H2OPro sprinkler timer be installed outdoors?

    • The H2OPro sprinkler timer is water resistant but recommended for indoor installation. To use in an outdoor location, H2OPro should be installed in a dry box.
  • What is the range of the H2OPro WiFi?

    • WiFi range can vary depending on many factors like the environment and the specific network router in your home. A practical method to check whether a potential location for the H2OPro will allow the system to successfully connect to your home WiFi router is to use your phone or tablet to check the signal strength at that specific location. If you find no WiFi signal or the signal is very weak, one option would be to install a signal booster between that location and your home WiFi router.
  • What is the privacy policy for the H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer Apps?

    • No personal information is collected or stored in the cloud by the H2OPro Apps or the H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer. The only optional information collected by the H2OPro App is your zip code, e-mail address and water rate. This information is stored locally on your phone and your H2OPro Sprinkler timer to monitor local weather, send alerts and track water cost. We do not share, sell or rent your information to any other parties outside of our company. The information is only used to provide the services as advertised by the App such as accessing local weather conditions and sending e-mail alerts or water usage reports via third party services.
  • Is there a warranty?

    • Yes, we offer a 1 year warranty on all of our products: the H2OPro Smart Sprinkler Timer, Flow Meter and  Flow Sensors.
  • What do you mean by 300hrs of flow measurement time for the H2OPro Flow Meter using 2 AA batteries?

    • The flow meter will be in sleep mode until flow is detected so a majority of the battery life is only used when the unit is actually measuring flow. For example, if you need to measure flow for a total of 1 hr per day then the flow gauge will typically operate for 300 days before you need to change batteries under normal operating conditions.
  • What is the best method to achieve a leak-tight fit with H2OPro Flow meters?

    • Be sure that you are attaching the H2OPro flow sensor to the correct type of fitting, which is a female 3/4" NPT. Before screwing the parts together, apply some Teflon tape to the H2OPro flow sensor fitting. If any questions, see the video on the flow sensor product page.
